Echo Atlantic Construction is now one of Florida's newest class 3 residential energy raters. What is the Building Energy Rating System you ask? If you've purchased a new or existing home in the state of Florida since 1994 then you were given a brochure on the benefits of having a home energy rating done. The rating system is a relative rating that allows you to compare the energy-efficiency of one house to another of the same size, occupancy and climate location. It is a "miles per gallon" MPG estimate of the home's energy consumption and energy costs. It gives detailed estimates of how much energy the home will consume in a year and how much it will cost to purchase that energy. Contact us for more details.

Addition or Renovation?

How about both. Area family's newest addition prompted the renovation.

"Can you start and finish the job before our baby is born?" queried the expectant couple. Echo Atlantic Construction happily accepted the challenge, and with careful planning, and coordination was able to complete the job by the baby's due date. The new baby, however, was uninterested in our artificial timetables, and completely disregarding the experts futile prognostications, arrived 2 weeks early.

Nonetheless, the proud parents are now enjoying their new space.

4-6 inches of open cell spray foam insulation covers 100% of the bottom side of the roof deck. This will keep the house a lot cooler, and should save the homeowners significant money on their energy costs

Mr T's concrete pour

Concrete was poured inside the house to fill in the trenches that were cut for the new plumbing. we also poured a new step out back, as well as reconfigured the existing pool deck.

Cocoa Beach Remodel

We are progressing on our latest project in Cocoa Beach.

All the drywall was removed, as well as the electrical, a/c, and plumbing.

A few easy things to do to lower your energy costs at home.

1) turn off lights when not needed, or when a room is unoccupied.
2) when replacing bulbs, use lower wattage or more efficient ones.
3) check and replace if necessary all the weather stripping around doors and windows.
4) lower your heating settings
5) raise your air conditioning settings
6) make sure you have a programmable thermostat to reduce the heating and air conditioning during unoccupied hours.
